We are Badgers United

Paving the Way Forward

We’re leading the conversation on creating a stable, financially healthy UW-Madison — and therefore, Wisconsin. As state support for the flagship university drops and in-state tuition remains frozen, the economic health of our state is put in jeopardy and residents front the bill.

Join us in creating a successful future for Wisconsin through higher education.

What’s the Problem?

TODAY'S TOUGHEST CHALLENGES

The future of UW-Madison has become more and more uncertain. A decrease in state support and an outdated tuition freeze have limited the University’s ability to serve our state.

STATE FUNDING SINCE 1974

Wisconsin has seen one of the largest decreases in the country, with a dip of 21% in the last forty years.

RATE OF INFLATION SINCE 2013

While tuition has remained frozen for over 6 years, costs have not. UW-Madison is now funded by more private dollars than state dollars.

STATE SUPPORT PER STUDENT

In inflation-adjusted dollars, students receive less money from the state today than in 1974.

UW-Madison’s Economic Impact is at Risk

To ensure Wisconsin’s flagship university continues to support our state,
we need to take to action.
